Legend of light, Mannie Manim, is coming to Ovalhouse. Mannie is a world re-knowned lighting designer, having made theatre for over 50 years. A co-founder of the revolutionary ‘Market Theatre’, Johannesburg, the leading theatre of struggle against racism in the apartheid era, we are honoured to have him working with us. Mannie’s visit has been supported by British Council, Cape Town. Big thank you to them for their vision. Mannie will be working with our designer Rajha Shakiry, who I know is delighted to have Mannie illuminating her stunning set. Together with Crin Claxton, herself a wizard of light turned Production Stage Manager for I Stand Corrected, it’s great to have the creators of Moj of the Antarctic and Muhammad Ali and Me working together again.
