Rest in Perfect Peace Muhammad Ali – we will pay tribute with Muhammad Ali and Me
2June 5, 2016 by mojisolaadebayohotmailcom
I cried so hard this weekend and gave huge thanks for my lifetime hero, Muhammad Ali. It feels all the more poignant because we already planned to revive my play Muhammad Ali and Me in October this year. We will be playing at the Albany Theatre in Deptford 6-15th October. We will then take a streamlined version of the show on a community tour of boxing clubs in Tower Hamlets through Rich Mix, Luton, Woking and across East Lancashire and West Yorkshire through idle women on the water. We are grateful to Arts Council England for their support and to all of you whom we hope will come along and enjoy the show and celebrate The Greatest.
I made a tribute on BBC World Service Radio on the morning Ali passed on. I’m on from 44 minutes in. Listen here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03wj5cw)
‘Adebayo captures brilliantly an extraordinary era… As a piece of stagecraft, an entertaining kaleidoscope of social and political history, only one description will do: this is a play that ‘floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee’

I immediately thought of you when the news broke and went right back to your play. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Thanks for your wonderful work Moj and I’m looking forward to October!
