Presenting / Performing at Prestigious Princeton

I’m just back from the most remarkable conference on Gender Violence at the prestigious Princeton University, New Jersey, USA. The keynote was delivered by Angela Y. Davis and it was an absolute honour to meet one of my all time sheroes. I thanked her for all she has done and said for oppressed people all over the world, and for black people in particular. She is such a humble woman and so, so brilliant and brave. I also had the privilege of meeting with scholars from the disciplines of political sciences, history and law. I learnt a lot about carceral feminism and the abolition movement against prisons. It was a real insight. It was also a total privilege to meet students and academics, as well as representatives from the women’s section of the united Nations. My highlight was sharing a panel with Profs. Catherine Cole and Sonja Kuftinec, hosted by another feminist shero of mine, Prof Jill Dolan. I shared about my work and performed an extract of text from I Stand Corrected.
